The Third Ark Has Arrived,
and it’s Here to Break Down Walls in the Breakin’ Scene!
BREAK ARK is a Go!

The new World Breaking Competition BREAK ARK is set to be held this Spring, 2019.
It is the third world championship category in the ARK LEAGUE,
following the BMX flatland championship FLAT ARK, and the Skateboard championship SKATE ARK.

The event will be organized by professional B-boy TAISUKE,
the world renowned dancer who has collected countless titles, both local and overseas,
thanks to his unique power and flavor that he has honed since early childhood.
He has helped lay the foundation for the current dance scene amongst Japanese kids and was the first Japanese dancer to win a solo world championship title.
As leader of THE FLOORIORZ, not only has his crew won the world crew title at the infamous BATTLE OF THE YEAR in Germany,
but is the only crew in the event’s history to do so three years in a row.
His contributions to the breaking scene have been great, to say the least.

With unrivaled experience under his belt,
as well as being so in touch with world level B-boys and B-girls and knowing the strength they possess,
his words hold weight when he speaks of how frustrating it can be that Breaking has been so widely received as a culture but not so much as a form of competitive athletics,
and that the Japanese Breaking scene is still far behind other competitions born from street cultures.
BREAK ARK was created in hopes of “Breaking down walls in the Breakin’ scene and creating a championship that will allow all dancers to unleash their potential,”
a theme that stems from TAISUKE’s aspirations.
With completely original rules and judging system, BREAK ARK aims to show the world that Breaking can have a new face—one that is
“both a culture and an extreme sport.”

As Breaking has become a candidate sport for the 2024 Paris Olympics,
it is currently gaining further attention from various industries across the globe.
The world awaits the conclusion, but in the meantime, dancers, organizers, and fans alike cast their eyes to the waves
and ripples in the dance scene—as Japan casts the first massive stone with the new world championship that is BREAK ARK.

誕生した第3の箱舟
BREAK ARK開催決定！

2019年春、BMX フラットランド世界大会「FLAT ARK」、スケートボード世界大会「SKATE ARK」に次ぐ第３の箱舟、
ブレイキン世界大会「BREAK ARK」の開催が決定しました。

大会オーガナイザーをつとめるのは、B-BOY TAISUKE。
幼少期からその圧倒的なダンスセンスで国内外のコンテストを渡り歩き、
現在のキッズダンスシーンの礎を築いたTAISUKEは、日本人初となる個人での世界大会優勝という偉業を達成。
チームとしてもヨーロッパの老舗イベントBATTLE OF THE YEAR（ブレイキン界のオリンピックと言われている大会）で
"THE FLOORRIORZ "のリーダーとしてチームを牽引し、日本チーム初優勝を掴み取るとともに、
そのまま大会史上初となる三連覇も成し遂げるなど、ブレイキンシーンに大きな影響を与え続けてきました。

世界で数々の戦いを経験し、世界に通用する日本人BBOY／BGIRLの強さを知るTAISUKEだからこそ感じた“悔しさ”。
それは、カルチャーとして発展してきた一方で、競技（アスリート）として世の中に認知されず、
他のストリート競技からも遅れをとってしまっている日本のブレイキンシーンの現状でした。
そうして、「シーンの壁を打ち破り、すべてのダンサーの可能性を広げる突破口となる大会を創りたい。」
というTAISUKEの強い想いのもと生まれた「BREAK ARK」。
ルール、ジャッジシステムを含めた全てが完全オリジナル。
“カルチャーでありエクストリームスポーツ”として、ブレイキンの新しい形を提示することを目的とした世界大会です。

2024年パリオリンピックの追加種目候補となり、今まさに様々な業界から熱い視線が注がれているブレイキン。
正式種目への採択に向け世界の関係者がシーンの動向を見つめる中、
大きな一石を投じることとなる世界大会が今年、日本に誕生します。
